This blog is primarily about the project of building my new bike, the beautiful 2011 Wilier Gran Turismo in nero (black/carbon).
You could say this is part of my mid-life crises as I’m sure my lovely Wife would, but my aim is to document the journey of building my first real “Euro Pro” level bicycle.
I’m hoping to capture all the emotions & technical aspects any enthusiast / competitive cyclist goes through during this type of activity.
In so doing I’m hoping to encourage feedback from readers that assists in the desicions I make & also hopefully give some useful insight & tips that assists others in such undertakings.
So who am I? Well I’m a 39 yr old Aussie living in the S.E. suburbs of Melbourne. I have a beautiful family with my Wife & 2 kids which along with my real job as a Project Manager is juggled with my addiction of all things cycling. I compete at a state level as a member of the 6am-ers Cycling Team through my home club of Carnegie Caulfield Cycling Club.
